The bridge on maximum satan is one of the best thing Jeff wrote, same for the evil bridge in the dark "clare" which is different from any song they made. While more focused on heavyness and theatricality than technicality it has some terrific solos. The guitar sound is evil as hell and sure this is their heaviest album ever.
From a composition perspective "invite it" is closer to "Alice in hell" than any song on Criteria.
Besides a couple of recycled riffs every song sounds different and original. RDon't care what anyone says, i love this album, their best since the first two.
